Testosterone Propionate

Testosterone Propionate, often simply called "Test Prop," is an injectable form of the primary male androgen, testosterone. It is distinct from other common forms (like Enanthate or Cypionate) because it has a short ester attached to it.

How It Works: The "Fast" Ester

Chemically, the "Propionate" ester is a short carbon chain.

• Rapid Release: Once injected, the ester is detached by enzymes very quickly. This causes a sharp spike in testosterone levels within hours, followed by a quick decline.

• Half-Life: Approximately 2 to 3 days. (Compare this to Enanthate, which is ~7–10 days).

• Less Water Retention: Because it clears the system quickly and doesn't accumulate as heavily as long esters, many users report less water retention and bloating, making it the preferred choice for cutting cycles.

• Drug Testing: Due to its fast clearance time, it is often used by athletes who are subject to drug testing, as it leaves the system faster than long esters.

General Dosage Guidelines

Because of its short half-life, Test Prop requires frequent injections to maintain stable blood levels. If you wait too long between doses, testosterone levels will crash, leading to side effects.

Protocol: Injections are typically administered Every Other Day (EOD) or even Daily.

1. Beginner / Intermediate Cycle

• Dosage: 100 mg injected Every Other Day (EOD).

• Weekly Total: Approximately 350 mg to 400 mg per week.

• Duration: 8 to 10 weeks.

• Goal: Quality muscle gains with minimal bloat.

2. Cutting & Contest Prep

Bodybuilders often switch to Propionate in the final weeks before a show.

• Dosage: 50 mg to 100 mg daily.

• Stacked with: Winstrol, Trenbolone Acetate, or Masteron.

• Goal: To maintain muscle mass while in a severe calorie deficit.

3. TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy)

While less common for TRT due to the injection frequency, some men prefer it to mimic natural daily fluctuations.

• Dosage: 20 mg to 25 mg daily or 50 mg EOD.
